From the importer:

Though relatively new to Brazil’s coffee scene, the Cerrado region has quickly built a reputation for producing high-quality specialty coffee. Roasters value Cerrado for its consistency—a result of its well-defined wet and dry seasons, abundant sunlight, and naturally fertile land. Combined with advanced agricultural practices and the entrepreneurial drive of its producers, Cerrado has become one of Brazil’s most respected coffee-growing regions. Farms here tend to be large, ranging from several hundred acres to massive estates, allowing for efficient and scalable production.

Located in the southwest of Minas Gerais, the Cerrado landscape is notably flat, with elevations between 900 and 1,250 meters above sea level. This terrain enables mechanical harvesting, an advantage not possible in Brazil’s more mountainous coffee regions.

But Cerrado’s significance extends beyond coffee. It’s also one of the most important ecosystems in the world. As the largest savannah in South America, it spans over 20% of Brazil and includes forests, marshes, and grasslands. The Cerrado biome is one of the planet’s most biodiverse regions—home to roughly 5% of all known species.
